Short answer
An IELTS course is a preparation programme that works on all four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) in the format of the test. Our group course is 45 hours long: 25 topic lessons of 90 minutes each and 5 mock review lessons, with a full mock test every Sunday for the last five weeks. Classes are grouped by level, with no more than 6 students. With one-to-one tutoring, the plan is built around your own gaps.
Who is this course for?
- First-time IELTS candidates who want to learn the format from the start
- Candidates who need a specific band score for an undergraduate, postgraduate or overseas application
- Candidates who have sat the test before, missed their target and want to strengthen the skills that held them back
- Candidates preparing for General Training for an immigration or job application
How does the group course work?
Every intake follows the same fixed programme, and the timetable is set before you enrol. With one-to-one tutoring, the plan is built around your own gaps instead.
- 1
Topic lessons
Over 25 topic lessons, you work through Listening, Reading, Writing Task 1 and Task 2, and Speaking, using the test's official question and task types. Lessons run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 19:00–20:30, and last 90 minutes each.
- 2
Homework and feedback
After the Writing and Speaking lessons there is homework every week: your tutor checks each piece and gives you feedback. You can follow your progress on your dashboard.
- 3
Mock tests and reviews
In the last five weeks, you sit a full, timed mock test online every Sunday at 10:00. The live lesson the following Tuesday, 19:00–20:30, is given over to that mock alone: your wrong and blank answers in Reading and Listening, and your Writing and Speaking performance.

Group course or one-to-one tutoring?
The group course runs to a fixed timetable, in classes of no more than 6 grouped by level. It is the more affordable way to learn the format and keep up a steady pace. One-to-one tutoring focuses entirely on your gaps and fits the programme around your own calendar.
If you can't decide between them, we'll work it out together on a free intro call: if your four skills are fairly even, the group course is enough; if one skill has fallen behind the others, one-to-one tutoring is the better choice.
