Online IELTS Preparation in Istanbul

Everyone starts from a different place, so that is where we start too. A diagnostic first measures your band in each of the four skills; then we decide how much weight Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking get, based on your target score and the version of the test you are taking. One-to-one tutoring is planned entirely around you, for Academic and General Training alike. The IELTS Academic group course follows a fixed timetable, in classes of no more than 6.

Academic or General Training?

The organisation you are applying to decides which one you take. We prepare candidates for both.

IELTS Academic
For university applications and academic admission. It includes Academic Writing Task 1 (describing a graph, chart or diagram) and more academic reading passages.
IELTS General Training
For immigration, work and general purposes. General Training Writing Task 1 is a letter, and the reading texts are closer to everyday life.

All four skills, prepared in balance

In IELTS, improving one skill on its own is rarely enough to lift your score, because your overall band is the average of all four. So we treat your preparation as a whole: the diagnostic shows how far each skill needs to move, and your time goes to the areas that are genuinely holding you back. Here is the approach we take in each of the four.

Listening
Learn to follow different accents with ease, recognise each question type and find the right answer without being caught by the options designed to mislead you.
Reading
Skim and scan long passages quickly, choose a strategy for each question type and use your time well, with the differences between Academic and General Training made clear.
Writing
Learn to write Task 1 and Task 2 to the assessment criteria, moving forward step by step with individual feedback on every piece of homework.
Speaking
Fluency, clear pronunciation and a wider vocabulary across all three parts, with confidence built through practice in the real test format.

Choose the route that suits you

The right route depends on your goal, your timetable and how you like to study. One-to-one tutoring works better if you have a deadline coming up soon or need to move one skill forward fast; the small-group course suits people who like a planned pace and the motivation of studying alongside others. If you can't decide, we'll talk it through with you on a free intro call.

One-to-one IELTS tutoring

A plan built entirely around you, starting with a diagnostic. We identify your weaker skills and give most of each lesson to the two that came out lowest.

Not happy with your first lesson? We refund your fee in full, no questions asked.

How we work

Our approach rests on one simple principle: progress by measurement, not guesswork. First we see where you are, then we map out the shortest route to your target in four steps, so every lesson goes on the things that actually move you forward.

1

Diagnostic

We measure your current band and your strengths and weaknesses in each skill.

2

Target and plan

We set a realistic study plan around your target band and your test date.

3

Skills work

We work on Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, giving each one as much weight as you need.

4

Mock tests and feedback

Mock tests in the real format and a detailed error analysis keep your plan up to date.

Why IELTS Istanbul?

Lessons are taught live on our own online classroom software; you won't be studying from pre-recorded videos. If you miss a lesson, you can watch the recording for 14 days. Every detail is set up to match real test conditions, so that what you learn here works for you on test day.

Experienced tutors

You study with experienced Turkish tutors and native English-speaking tutors. We have been preparing candidates for IELTS since 2008, and our teaching is built around the test's four official assessment criteria.

Small groups

With no more than 6 in a class, everyone gets their turn and nobody is overlooked.

The real test format

Every practice session and mock test follows exactly the format you will meet on test day.

Writing feedback

Your Task 1 and Task 2 responses are checked one by one against the four official criteria and returned with specific suggestions.

Speaking practice

You practise with questions in the real test format and get clear feedback on your pronunciation and fluency.

Online lessons

Join live lessons from wherever you are; private lessons are scheduled around you.

The risk is ours: a no-questions-asked refund

We want you to feel comfortable before you start. If you are not happy with your first private lesson, or with the first week's lessons on the group course, we refund everything you paid. We don't ask why.

Frequently asked questions

IELTS Academic is the usual choice for university applications and academic purposes; General Training is for immigration, work and general purposes. The organisation you are applying to decides which one you need. If you're not sure, send us their requirement and we'll look at it with you.

The group course runs for 13–14 weeks, depending on the intake. With one-to-one tutoring, the length depends on the gap between your current level and your target band: after the diagnostic we set a realistic target and weekly workload and build a plan of 4–12 weeks, or longer. We do not guarantee any particular band score.

Yes, lessons are live and online. Private lessons are scheduled around you, so they also suit people who are working or studying.

In Writing, your Task 1 and Task 2 responses are checked one by one against the test's four official assessment criteria, and you get individual feedback showing where you are losing marks. In Speaking, you practise with questions in the real test format and get concrete suggestions on pronunciation and fluency.

Yes. On the group course you sit a full mock test every Sunday for the last five weeks and go through it in a live review lesson the following Tuesday. Separately, you can buy our 20 full IELTS Academic practice tests one at a time or in packs; the first test, the free diagnostic test, costs nothing, and you can sit each test up to 2 times.

No, we don't guarantee a particular band score; the result also depends on the work you put in. What we offer instead is a plan based on measurement, regular feedback and a realistic target. We also give a no-questions-asked refund if you are not happy with your first lesson (on the group course, the first week).

If you are learning the format from scratch and want the more affordable option, the group course with up to 6 per class is the better fit; if you need to reach a specific score quickly or are stuck on one skill, one-to-one tutoring works better. If you can't decide, we'll decide together on a free intro call: if your four skills are fairly even, the group course; if one of them is lagging behind, one-to-one tutoring.

Let's start with a free intro call

We'll talk about your target band and your timetable, and suggest the programme options that fit. For current prices, see our pricing page or get in touch.
