It talks you through the IELTS questions you got wrong

Finishing your IELTS practice test is where the work starts. AI Tutor goes through your mistakes with you: it won't just give you the answer, it asks you, writes the evidence on the board and lets you find where you went wrong.

Your first 2 mistakes are free (up to 10 minutes)

No card needed to try it, just your account.

One lesson, start to finish

A mistake is picked on the results page, the tutor asks, the answer comes back, the next step goes up on the board and the question is closed. The video is silent; the conversation is in the captions.

  4. Move on

Press “Finish this question” once you've got it. Your first 2 mistakes are free; after that you carry on in 30-minute blocks.

What a lesson has

It starts from one mistake

When the test ends, your English score report shows an AI Tutor card with the number of questions you got wrong or left blank. Open it and the lesson starts on those questions; the tutor already has each question, its choices and the answer you gave.

A shared board

The tutor writes up and highlights the evidence from the text; you can write on the board too, and it reads what you wrote.

You set the lesson up

Before you start, pick how it runs (step by step together, or the tutor explains), the language it opens in (any of 20) and the tutor's voice. After that it follows whichever language you speak.

Writing, coached against the rubric

You go through your Writing Task 1 / Task 2 text against the IELTS band descriptors: it shows where the score comes from using your own sentences, and you make the fixes. It never writes the text for you.

It won't lead with the answer, and won't withhold it

The tutor climbs a ladder. It starts at the bottom and moves up one rung at a time, never skipping. Ask for the answer and you get it: no haggling, no “try once more first”.
  1. Watches

If you are working, it stays out of the way.

  2. Try again

“Have another look at the choices.”

  3. Points the way

“Read the paragraph's second sentence again.”

  4. Socratic question

“Does the text say this, or only suggest it?”

  5. Targeted hint

“The evidence is in the third paragraph.”

  6. Shows one step

Writes only that step on the board; the rest is yours.

  7. Full solution

Once the guided attempts are genuinely spent.

What it works on in IELTS

Every question leaves a short record

When a question closes, the tutor classifies it: which kind of mistake, how far up the ladder it had to go, how many hints, whether you got there in the end and whether you found it yourself. No audio is kept; a written transcript of the lesson and this short record are kept with your account, and deleted when your account is deleted.

Your panel shows these records too: under your exam results, how many questions each type of mistake came up on in each exam, and which questions, each linked to its test's results.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't predict your score or promise a higher one.
  • It works on the practice tests you finish, not on question-bank or homework questions.
  • It doesn't review IELTS or TOEFL Speaking, doesn't re-score PTE pronunciation, and never writes your text or homework for you.
  • It doesn't replace a human teacher; our one-to-one tutoring is a separate service.

Questions people ask

SAT, GMAT, GRE, PTE, IELTS, TOEFL and ACT practice tests, including the free diagnostic tests. When the test ends, the lesson starts from a question you got wrong or left blank on your results page. On the IELTS it works through Listening and Reading questions. Your Writing Task 1 / Task 2 text is coached against the IELTS band descriptors.

Your first 2 wrong questions are free, once per account, for up to 10 minutes. There is no card to enter to try it; you just need to be signed in.

You buy time in 30-minute blocks, up to 8 blocks (4 hours) in one purchase. The price is shown in the site's currency. Unused minutes stay on your account and carry over to your next practice tests.

Yes, if you ask. It starts by asking you and giving hints, but say “just tell me” and it does. The “Show the answer” button is on screen for every question, except Writing tasks, which have no single right answer.

It opens in the language you pick (any of 20) and then follows whichever language you speak. The question stays in English, as it is on test day.

The lesson runs on voice, so your browser will ask for the microphone; headphones and a quiet room help. You can mute whenever you like and carry on by writing on the board.

No audio is kept. A written transcript of the lesson and a short note per question (the type of mistake and how many hints it took) are kept with your account, and deleted when your account is deleted.
